Combined VHF/GPS Antenna for AIS

This compact antenna is a combined VHF and GPS antenna in one marine housing. Installing the antennas for an AIS Class B onboard can be some work: both a GPS antenna and a VHF antenna are required. As, esp. on sailing yachts, it is often difficult to find a suitable place for the VHF antenna (the masthead is already occupied by the antenna for the VHF radio, and at least 80 cm horizontal clearance from this antenna is necessary), we have developed a two-in-one antenna at a very attractive price.

Installation:

Installation is quick and simple. With two 5 m cables the antenna can be mounted on the rail or pushpit of a yacht or cabin top of a motor boat. Although obviously the pushpit does not offer the same antenna height as the masthead, it is plenty enough for the purposes of AIS, where maximum range is not required, as ships in the vicinity are those that present the highest danger.

A stainless steel mount for standard marine rails is also available for 9,99 Euro.

This antenna is specially suited for AIS Class B Transponders and for AIS receivers with build-in GPS. This dual antenna helps to keep installation costs low and to make installation easier.
